Overview:
This training will provide vital, applicable information for anyone interested in learning play therapy
techniques especially useful for adolescents. These ideas and activities can be applied throughout a
variety of settings, including private practice, school, and residential. Play therapy methods introduced
will promote nurture, structure and challenge and allow for individual growth through the group
process

Learning Objectives:
1.  Learn about group process and group roles
2.  Identify what types of groups are most beneficial to the adolescent population
3.  Discuss benefits of play therapy techniques within group settings
4.  Learn specific play therapy activities and techniques

The Presenter:
Katie Sabo has a master’s degree in school and professional counseling. She’s a
licensed professional counselor and a registered play therapist. Katie is currently an 8th
and 9th grade school counselor in the Platte County R3 School District and recently
presented on Play Therapy in School Settings at the Missouri School Counselor
Association Conference.
