Play Therapy for Preschoolers

Overview:
The focus of this training will be on play therapy with children 3-5 years of age. Child
development, developmental delays and common clinical disorders of preschoolers will be
discussed. Play therapy interventions appropriate for preschoolers with mild to moderate
behavior problems will be shared
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the basic developmental aspects of preschoolers
2. Gain an understanding of how developmental delays affect preschoolers
3. Learn how to use play therapy in conjunction with parent education
4. Learn play therapy interventions and strategies specifically for preschool aged children
Schedule
Fee: $120—includes 6 APT CE direct contact credit hours

The Presenter:
Pam Dyson, MA, LPC, RPT, is a child development expert, parenting coach, licensed
professional counselor, nationally certified counselor and registered play therapist. In
addition to her private practice in Ballwin, Missouri, she teaches a graduate course in play
therapy at Lindenwood University, serves as a mental health consultant, facilitates
workshops at conferences throughout the US, and appears monthly on KMOV's "Great Day
St. Louis". Pam is the founder and director of the St. Louis Center for Play Therapy Training.
