150 clock hours of graduate level play therapy specific training
Two years and 2,000 hours of clinical experience
500 hours of supervised play therapy experience that includes 50 hours of play therapy supervision

Q: Is it necessary to attend Introduction to Play Therapy before any of the others?
A: There are no prerequisites. You may attend trainings in any order.
Q: Will these trainings count toward certification in Play Therapy?
A: Yes. The St. Louis Center for Play Therapy Training is an APT approved provider. The CE hours you earn through the center can be applied toward credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist. Additionally, APT CE hours may be accepted by other mental health disciplines for licensure purposes. Contact your state board for specific requirements.
